This year National Parents Week will be held from 21st till 27th October and ABC to Read will be taking part by organising a Free Educational Parents Workshop on 26th October (Saturday) from 11:00 till 13:00 at Reading College (room B106).
The workshop is interactive, for around 20 parents and uses a range of activities to help parents understand how they can support their children to succeed and enjoy reading.
Discover new ways to help your children:
– Become successful
– Feel proud of what they CAN do
– Become confident in their own abilities
– Receive an incentive to read out loud
– See you as a helper and a friend, NOT a teacher
– Enjoy reading and have FUN together
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, 26th October!
ABC to Read is a Berkshire based charity organisation, supporting children, who are struggling with learning to read. The charity believes that children benefit enormously when parents show a genuine interest in them. Talking and listening to what children say is important because this provides a nurturing environment within which children develop the important earlier years of their life.
The charity provides further trainings in which we train school’s own volunteer parents and parents of primary, transition and pre-school children to give them the confidence and basic knowledge and skills to support their children at home and so are able to achieve success in early years or later education.
