Join ABC to Read at 11 am on Sunday 26 May 2013 for our annual Sponsored Walk.

The Sponsored Walk is a 2.2 mile (3.5km) guided woodland walk through bog & heathland in California Country Park. It is an honour to announce that the walk will be opened by Cllr Simon Weeks who established the Health Walks Scheme in Finchampstead 10 years ago.

NEW for this year is the Family Fun Day, which starts after the Walk with singers, dancers, face painting, a bouncy castle and much more in the lovely surroundings of California Country Park.

Don’t worry if you don’t feel like walking – just come along to the Family Fun Day – we’ll be happy to see you. The Family Fun Day is FREE, but if you register for the Sponsored Walk, you will receive:

  • 1 strip i.e. 5 raffle tickets per person
  • A goodie bag filled with goodies from our sponsors (L’Oreál and Caversham Coachworks)
  • A chance to win a Miele S6 hoover on the competition
  • A quiz for the kids
  • A certificate to show you participated in the Sponsored Walk

By taking part you will make a difference to the lives of children in Berkshire.
