Statement of general policy Responsible Action/Arrangements
To prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health and provide adequate control of health and safety risks arising from work activities  Trustees/MR Relevant risk assessments undertaken and actions arising out of those assessments implemented. Risk assessments reviewed every year or earlier if working arrangements or conditions change or as otherwise required.
To provide adequate training to ensure employees are competent to do their work MR Staff and volunteers are provided with the appropriate health and safety information that they are required to follow, both orally and in writing, including lone working, being one of the main H&S areas of attention
To engage and consult with employees on day-to-day health and safety conditions and provide advice and supervision on occupational health MR Staff and volunteers are consulted in all cases where any H&S issues have arisen and are required to report any H&S issues or concerns to MR or the Trustees
To implement emergency procedures – evacuation in case of fire or other significant incident. You can find help with your fire risk assessment at: (See note 1 below) MR A Fire risk assessment has been completed and plan put into place. Additionally escape from the office in case of fire or other threat is documented as part of the lone working policy. Staff or volunteers operating from third party premises are governed by their emergency procedures and the Trustees are satisfied that these are adequate and ensure all staff and volunteers are required to make themselves familiar with such procedures.
To maintain safe and healthy working conditions, provide and maintain equipment, and ensure safe storage / use of substances MR Toilets, washing facilities and drinking water are provided in ABC’s premises. These are checked and maintained by St Marks Church. Electrical equipment is PAT tested annually. The first aid box is kept in the on the window sill in the ABC to read office.
The use of own vehicle ALL To provide driving license when requested for checks

Refer to lone working guidance, follow safe driving practises, keep vehicle safe and regularly serviced with adequate insurance.

First-aid box and accident book are located on the windowsill.  Accidents and ill health at work reported under RIDDOR: (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) (see note 2 below) Office
